Beverley Brown-Chislett
Artistic Director / Dance Instructor / Yoga Instructor
As a life-long student of the arts Beverley has dedicated herself to dance, painting and the healing arts. Beverley began her training in highland, folk, tap, jazz, ballet and modern under the loving tutelage of Jean Muir. In high school she discovered theatre and after graduation continued her studies at Niagara Theatre College in Welland, Ontario majoring in scenic painting. She graduated with an Honours Degree in Theatre Arts and apprenticed in Mannheim, Germany. After marrying and moving to California, Beverley began ballet classes again and danced professionally in the Southern California Ballet Company as well as freelance. Having been greatly influenced by many of her teachers, she began to teach in 1980 and opened her own studio in Yucca Valley, California. She and her family returned to Canada in 1988 and shortly afterwards she began teaching in Peterborough at the Academy of Dance and Move N’Groove. In 2003 Beverley opened Studio 505 - “Home of the Arts”.

Lindsay Storms
Dance Instructor
Lindsay began her dancing career at the age of three in Toronto, and moved to the Lindsay area at the age of 13, where she continued her studies in R.A.D. Ballet, I.S.T.D. Modern, and Jazz with the Lindsay Dance Studio. After three years of study at Trent University, Lindsay returned to LDS, to pursue her I.S.T.D. Associates for Modern and Jazz. Lindsay has since also acquired her R.A.D. Intermediate ballet and most recently her Associate Diploma with the Modern Theatre branch of the I.S.T.D. Over the years, Lindsay has had the wonderful opportunity to teach for several studios across Ontario, both competitive and non-competitive. This will be Lindsay’s fourth year with Studio 505, where she is looking forward to introducing Modern to the studio’s repertoire, as well as continuing on with her Hip Hop program. Lindsay continues her passion for learning by taking courses with world renowned examiners and choreographers covering various dance disciplines such as hip-hop, lyrical, and contemporary.
Lynn Mooney
Highland Dance Instructor
Lynn Mooney is a member of the British Association of Teachers of Dancing and in 2002 was made a Life Member of the Association. Lynn enters eligible students in the Highland Games as well as exams.
Studio 505 is honoured to have Lynn on board.
Maggie Bakker
Yoga Instructor
Maggie Bakker is a certified instructor in Kripalu Yoga. Her class in Gentle Yoga at Studio 505 increases flexibility, stamina, and awareness of the physical, mental and emotional bodies. See www.maggiebakker.ca for more information.
Janice Scanlon
Pilates Instructor
Janice Scanlon is a dynamic and enthusiastic pilates instructor who has been running our pilates program for the past two years. Participants rate her expertise and caring attitude very highly, along with her ability to make it fun. Janice is a certified pilates instructor through Body Harmonics Studio of Toronto. She continues to upgrade her training with further courses to offer variety to her classes. She is also the proud mother of four daughters and considers herself blessed to be married to her husband Mark.
